QR Codes have been common in Japan for many years and now gaining more exposure in Europe
and the United States. The QR Code standard was developed by Denso Wave in Japan, released in
1994 and initially used for tracking parts.
QR Codes contain information in both horizontal and vertical directions compared to a single direction barcode.
The QR Code is defined and published as ISO standard and QR Codes obviously look different to
each other depending on the data encoded but the only significant no data variations are the
number of elements / dots needed to store the data within.
